Nut Rolls - What's Cookin' in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania

(My Mom made this Easter 2010 for us. Very Good)

5 cups flour (about)
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup butter (soft)
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 eggs, well beaten
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup hot milk

Filling:
4 pounds nuts (ground fine)
Sugar to taste ( about 2 cups)
Add milk to make paste to spread easily

1/2 of a large cake of yeast

Into small bowl, put 1 teaspoon sugar, a little hot milk, to which add cold milk to make lukewarm, into this break up 1/2 cake yeast; let this stand while the following is done : Into a large bowl, put the sugar, soft butter, hot milk and stir to dissolve. Then add salt, beaten eggs, and vanilla; stir well. Add the yeast and stir well. Stir in the flour (more may be needed, and work it till hand comes clean). Cover, let rise for about 2 hours, then divide dough into 5 parts. Brown slightly some butter. When each part of the dough is rolled out, butter the dough before spreading nuts.
